Tutti-fruity is something that is associated with every 80s, 90s born kid.I remember the tutti-fruity cakes we used to get in our school canteen. We also used to get some tutti-fruity biscuits from our favourite local bakery. They were not just visually attractive, but delicious as well....aahhh!!! those were the days!!!! This recipe that I am sharing today, is eggless, as well as without any Baking powder or soda. And believe me, baking powder/soda will not be missed in these scrumptious biscuits. They are flaky, crispy, light and buttery, even without those raising agents. Just follow my recipe EXACTLY, and you won't mess up, I promise (See the Important Tips at the end of the post)!!

Hi friends !! Here's wishing all the mothers a very Happy Mother's Day!! Now, coming to my motherhood trauma.....like any other kid, my girl is currently going through a "biscuits-phase"....a phase where all she wants to hog on is, chocolate biscuits whole day. Now being a mommy, it is obviously not acceptable to me...but "No" is unacceptable to her too. So, I have tried making it a bit healthier, by using wholewheat flour and ragi flour. We as adults loved it too and there was a duel between the daddy-daughter duo for the last biscuit. Needless to say I had to bake a fresh batch that very night to resolve their fight. The nuttiness of the flours added depth to the chocolate flavor, making it more intense and yummier. These biscuits are crisp and buttery.....
Irresistible and addictive are the only words I can choose to describe them...

The word "naan-khatai" always rings fond, nostalgic memories for me; it being associated with my naani (maternal granny)....no....not just literally ("naan" khatai!!) but through her cooking. She used to bake the perfect naan-khatais, and keeping our little hands off it was impossible. This was always a featured request from us kiddies, on all her visits without fail. Her recipe eluded us a lot after she was gone, as there was no documentation. Somehow after many years, I found her recipe, quietly tucked away in my mother's recipe diary....and obviously my joy knew no bounds!! So this is my grandmother's recipe that I'm going to share today.

The PERFECT Eggless Chocolate chip cookies...soft, chewy and crunchy on the outside!
Hi friends!! A very Happy New Year to you all. Hope you all ringed in the new year in healthy and happy spirits. We too had loads of fun celebrating it with our friends and wishing our families back home through Duos and Watsapp. For the baker in me, the New year became extra special when Gayathri announced Season 2 of the Baking eggless challenge.....remember all the fun we had last time??! (you can read about it here and here). This time she'll be giving us 2 recipes a month, to convert to eggless....wooow, isn't it!!
For this month's first challenge, it was the famous Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies. Now these are some cookies that are my family's absolute favorite, so I was pretty excited, as well as a bit apprehensive, whether I'll be able to replicate the chewy texture without the egg. But bingo!!! found out egg can be subbed without compromising on the original texture....
